About the Department:
The department of Mathematics is one of the science departments of our college. It was established in 2008 to carry out undergraduate General Course in Science (BSc General). Gradually the UG Honours course in Mathematics was introduced in 2009. The first batch passed out in 2011. From 2023 three years Mathematics Major course has been started as the University of Burdwan adopted NEP. The Department of Mathematics envisages students’ enrichment with knowledge and skills for spatial thinking and analysis to understand the real-world problems and contribute some meaningful ways for social well-being. The Departmental library contains some collections of Maths Books. At present it has nearly 150 Books (reference and Textbooks). The Department has a fully equipped Mathematics Laboratory with a computer facility laboratory.
Vision
- To adopt the principle that teaching is the best way of learning.
- To induct mathematics not simply as the instrument of science but also as the language of thoughts.
- To identify and then practice accordingly distinctive mode of teaching mathematics for Science and Technology and for exclusive mathematical studies required for students in the general stream.

- To create proper academic environment that can produce young researchers and motivating entrepreneurs as well.
- To identify young minds that can produce effective support to the growth of the nation.
- To identify and subsequently to resolve the limitations of mathematical results and formulae for growth & development of technology.
