About the Department:
The department of Physics is one of the science departments of our college. It was established in 2008 to carryout undergraduate General Course in Science (BSc General). Gradually UG Honours course in Mathematics was introduced in 2009. Students of Mathematics honours took Physics as their subsidiary subject. The first batch passed out in 2011. From 2023 three years Physics Major course has been started as the University of Burdwan adopted NEP. The Department of Physics envisages students’ enrichment with knowledge and skills for spatial thinking and analysis to understand the real-world problems and contribute some meaningful ways for social well-being. The Departmental library contains some collections of Physics Books. At present it has nearly 170 Books (reference and Texts Books). The Department has a fully equipped Physics Laboratory with computer facility.
