About the Department:
The Department of Political Science at our college, established in 2006, is a core department offering undergraduate general courses. In 2023, the department introduced a three-year major course, aligned with NEP 2020, and the first batch is currently pursuing it. The department aims to foster critical thinking and analytical skills in students, equipping them to address real-world problems and contribute meaningfully to society. The Department also maintains a library with a collection of approximately 200 books, including both textbooks and reference materials, dedicated to supporting students in their academic journey. Looking ahead, the department has ambitious plans to introduce a four-year major course in the upcoming academic session, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and comprehensive education for future political scientists.
Vision
Our vision is to create a future where students from marginalized and tribal communities are empowered, enlightened, and confident, actively contributing to society as socially and politically aware citizens. We aim to be a proud institution that nurtures students as assets, guiding them to build meaningful careers and enriched lives through education and self-development.
Mission
Our mission is to uplift students from backward classes, including tribal communities, most of whom are first-generation learners, by integrating them into mainstream culture through education. We strive to guide them towards the light of knowledge, fulfilling their desires and aspirations. We are committed to making their vision clear, broadening their minds, instilling fearlessness, and strengthening their values. Our primary goal is to provide them with a platform to begin their educational journey, and through the study of political science, empower them to become socially and politically conscious citizens. We aim to help them build successful careers and enrich their lives, considering them our pride and valuable assets. Academically, we aim to make our political science students well-versed in parliamentary democracy, good governance, and constitutional practices, and to prepare them for competitive exams, such as civil services and judicial exams. We also foster their general knowledge, intellectual growth, and personality development, ensuring they can actively engage both within and outside the classroom.
