About the Department:
The department of Sanskrit was introduced in 2006 to carryout UG General Courses in Sanskrit . In 2011 the Hons Course was introduced. At the beginning college offered 3 Year Degree Course (UG) in Part System (1+1+1) under the supervision of University of Burdwan. In 2017 the CBCS System was introduced. So, from 2017 we offered UG CBCS B.A. Hons and B.A. Programme courses (General) to the students. Now under the NEP 2020 our students can opted the subject Major or Minor subject for 4 Years B.A. Hons Programme and 3 Years B.A. Degree Programme. The Department of Sanskrit follows the syllabus of UG section of Burdwan University. The assessment system structured by the University is followed by us. Mid-term examinations and Internal examinations is followed. Besides, Periodical Tests are scheduled as indicators of student performance. For the all-round enhancement of the student the department takes initiatives. The department organises the Special Lectures. Students are enlightened by the valuable speeches of the Eminent Speakers from other departments as well as from other colleges . We are also providing the Career Counselling Programme, Add on Courses, Spoken Sanskrit Courses, Student Seminars etc for the betterment of the students. We have a separate Departmental Library along with the Central one. Students can borrow extra books from the Departmental Library. In Departmental Library they have free access to choose books by themselves in presence of departmental teachers.
